When my on-call shift ends, draft a handoff note: incidents (status, one-line cause if known, links), alerts still firing, deploys and merged PRs during the shift, and anything the next person should watch. Save it as a draft Slack message to #oncall for me to review and send. Never acknowledge, resolve, or escalate incidents, and never page anyone.
